Walmart, Macy’s and More Look Beyond Shareholder Value – Footwear News

I came across this while I was comparing the stock charts of GE, and Walmart over the past 30 years.  The GE chart shows the rise and fall of overly aggressive capitalism, and Walmart shows what sustainable capitalism looks like.

But then I found this article that underscores, even more, why I’m so upbeat when everything we hear is gloomy.

And one more thing I smile about is that instead of the Wall Street Journal, or other major media, this encouraging news appears in a footwear magazine.

The good news is there, you just have to dig for it.

Business Roundtable, counting members like Walmart and Macy’s, issued new corporate governance principles no longer fixated on shareholders.
